Unlock w221 comand for TV / DVD ?
Hello,
I've just receive the brand new S 320 cdi L and the car is just amazing !
The Comand system is just perfect : MUCH BETTER GPS than w220 '2000, DVD video, TV Digital & Analog, DVD-MP3 !!!
I found recently on the net, codes for the w220 previous version of COMAND APS, there was a special keys to be press at same time and it allow to unhide a hidden menu "Driver Distraction" to unlock this feature.
I wonder what should be the new codes for the w221
I do understand that for security reasons, they forbid it so the driver could not put him and the others in danger but I think that in that way they should also cut off the Navigation display MAP as finding a street and looking at the screen could be also very dangerous ... I so repeat it's only for the passengers.
I would be very gratefull if someone could help me ^^

These worked for me to get into the menus on a 2005 E55.
mute + end call + service all together gets you into a service menu on command. Suposedly pressing #, *, <- gets you in further but I can't remeber if this worked for me previously, I just tried and it didn't.
This thread also shows how to access the startup screen menu:
http://www.mercedes-amg.com/privatel...read.php?t=177
For me it worked from the nav screen so i think it may vary.
These are instructions to access the menus in the speedo.
1. Turn key to position 1
2. Make sure display is on temp setting. (I was told MPH but for me was temp)
3. Press reset button on left side of dash 3 times
4. You will see UV: voltage reading
5. Press up arrow. You will see some software codes but at the bottom you will see exact oil quantity in the sump. This also can get you into dyno mode and some service modes by scrolling through the pages.
6. Turn key to position 2 and it will bring up oil amount in exact quarts in the sump. Make sure car has been off for a couple of hours to get an accurate reading.
You can even start the car in this mode and see the oil level drop as it circulates through the engine. All in all much better data to work with than the simple "oil level is fine indicator"
7. Turn ignition all the way off to exit the service mode.
I didn't figure this out myself just collected it from various posts. Whether or not it will work on a W221 who knows but at least its some things to try.
Good luck!
